Performing can be scary for any dancer. Being on a stage in front of multiple people can cause a lot of nerves to surface. Luckily, we have some tools and tips that can help you when you’re preparing for your dance performance!
- Practice Breathing Techniques- taking deep breaths will calm nerves.
- Have a plan for when you make a mistake on the stage. This is simple- Smile keep dancing and don’t be too hard on yourself!
- Make sure that your attendance is class prior to the performance is consistent! If your practice is flakey, then your performance will be flakey!
Performing is an exciting time for dancers! You have worked very hard this past year for your dance performance, and it shows when you’re on stage. Just remember to have fun and don’t let the nerves get the best of you!
