How old were you when you began learning to play your instrument?
I started piano as a teenager, but didn’t take it seriously till college. My passion started with singing and while I didn’t have lessons until I was 13, it was always something I loved to do.

What do you Love about Teaching?
I love to watch my students grow into confident musicians and performers. I firmly believe that music enriches education and life. The most fulfilling part of teaching comes when I observe a student’s passion kindle while absorbing a new concept and helping them achieve their dreams.

Your Unique Approach to Teaching
I enjoy curating and finding music that will match the interests and skill sets of each student. Finding ways to connect to my students through thoughtful individualized lessons that are engaging and help build on their strengths, while also helping them navigate through new musical concepts and terrains. Thus, hopefully engaging their curiosity and wonder.

What do you enjoy about teaching at Myriad?
I feel supported and appreciated as a teacher at Myriad. The classrooms are always stocked and ready. The rest of the staff and teaching artists are so kind and a pleasure to work with.

What are your hobbies & Interests?
I enjoy gardening, learning about our world, visiting nature, crafting, art, and hanging out with my animals and friends. I also love a good book and/or movie.

Is there anything else you’d like your students to know about you?
I have performed in numerous musical theater roles and currently perform with Opera San Jose, appearing in 19 productions so far as a chorus member and soloist.
