How old were you when you began learning to play your instrument?
I started piano at age 9, voice at age 7, and dance at age 6!
What do you Love about Teaching?
I love the opportunity to inspire others and make a difference in the world.
Where did you receive your Degrees in Music / Dance Education
PIANO: I trained with Lyn Fales in Edison, New Jersey.
VOICE: I have trained intensively at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City as well as at Arden Kaywin Vocal Studio. I also trained extensively in Rutgers’ Choir of Mason Gross School of the Arts, and New Jersey’s Regions and All-State Choirs.
DANCE: I trained ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary/lyrical, hip hop, and musical theatre in Edison and Metuchen, New Jersey. I received my undergraduate degree at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey and my masters at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California.
Your Unique Approach to Teaching
I bring love, joy, playfulness, and fun to the classroom. Students become curious on how to enjoy the new skills of their craft and instrument and encouraged to create in their own innovative style that is uniquely theirs over time.
What do you enjoy about teaching at Myriad?
It brings joy to my heart to see Myriad students eager to learn and grow in their crafts and honestly just have some fun together!
What are your hobbies & Interests?
I have acted in plays, festivals, and musicals across the country! I enjoy yoga, Zumba Fitness, travel, and spirituality
Is there an inspirational quote you’d like to share with your students?
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.”
Is there anything else you’d like your students to know about you?
The title of music/dance teaching artist speaks to my soul. I hope that this inner light and love for performing arts shines through me and sparks a light within you so that you may love, see, understand, know, accept and believe in yourself and all you were born to be!
