Are you looking for Kid’s Guitar Lessons for a child aged 6-9 years old?
Perfect! You are in the right place. Guitar Team students LOVE these special, unique classes. Many guitarists ages 6-9 thrive in our Guitar Teams classes, which are small classes with 3 students with 1 teacher. These children also receive individual private lessons in class, along with activities that embrace all classmates, promoting music theory and collaboration. Guitar Team students progress at the same rate as Private Lesson students. Guitar Team students then typically move into Private Lessons at the age of 9 or 10. The engagement level and home practice excitement is hugely successful for Guitar Team students.
We also offer Private Guitar Lessons for 6-9 year olds.
All Private Lessons and Guitar Teams are year-round enrollment / 12 month classes. Your preferred lesson time is reserved exclusively for you, year-to-year. No need to re-register each time. Guitar Teams are fun, unique guitar classes of 2-4 children
All of the benefits of a private guitar lesson, combined with the benefits of making music with others. Guitarists usually function in a band setting as their skins improve, so this is a slice of real-life guitar playing from the start! Students enjoy playing together as a “band”, learn how to read music, learn correct technique and postures. Teachers make the team activities and the private lesson portion relevant to each student. This format provides lots of personal attention. Beginners will be able to jump into the action on their first day!
The best start for Young Guitarists!
For over a decade we have witnessed our Team Students are more engaged and resilient in the early stages of learning their instruments. Honestly, learning the guitar can be difficult at the beginning for small hands, combined with challenging fine-motor skills. Thankfully, this is not the trend at Myriad, as our teachers carefully sequence the material, songs and guitar exercises. Additionally, these classes are full of musical games and team activities which reinforce guitar skills and reading concepts. This magical class fosters smart guitar foundations , while forming bonds and a team-spirit between students, encouraging and cheering on each others’ accomplishments! This is the best way to motivate young guitarists to work towards their own personal goals, while still being part of a team experience. Music is meant to be shared and the guitar team format is an amazing motivator!
Every child feels successful, learning at their own pace.
Each Guitar Team class will be 50 minutes in length, once a week. The lesson format includes 4 components.
- Opening warm-up improvisation that all children and the teacher play together
- Music Theory / Composition Skills Games and Worksheets
- Private Session rotation during which the teacher coaches each child’s solos
- Mini-Rock Band with ensemble play. Each week, students take turns playing lead guitar, rhythm guitar, or bass guitar roles.
All the benefits of a private guitar lesson and much more!
Myriad’s Guitar Team students are getting that important early-stage togetherness with one or two fellow classmates, while still getting lots of personal coaching in their personal private lesson. Our Team students love the balance of this format! Team Classes provide a small group setting while also providing personal weekly private lessons each.
