Welcome to a vibrant, high-energy art class experience designed to inspire creators from ages 4 – 14. Whether your child is taking their very first steps into color mixing or refining a portfolio of advanced techniques, our comprehensive curriculum meets every young artist right where they are.
Our dynamic, project-based classes ensure that every single week, students create and bring home a brand-new, masterpiece-ready project to proudly display!

Our program features much more than basic art elements. Even our youngest artists are getting many benefits of a smart curriculum. Our artists dive headfirst into a rich, rotating universe of fine art mediums, expanding their technical skills across multiple disciplines:
- Drawing & Cartooning: Mastering character design, expressive linework, and visual storytelling.
- Painting & Watercolor: Experimenting with fluid dynamics, color blending, and brush control.
- Oil Pastels & Chalks: Creating rich, velvety tapestries and vibrant, blended gradients.

The Foundations: Learning the Elements of Design
Great art starts with great fundamentals. Your artists will receive a Progress Report from their Myriad Art Teacher annually, where you can see how they are progressing through these elements of design. In every lesson, we seamlessly weave in the crucial elements of design, teaching students to see like real artists. Over the course of the program, students will explore and master:

Line & Shape: From foundational geometric structures to fluid, expressive contours.

Form & Dimension: Learning how to transform flat, 2D shapes into realistic, 3D forms.

Value & Light: Understanding highlights, shadows, and contrast to give art depth and drama.

Junior Art Classes: Ages 4-5
In Junior Art Classes for Ages 4-5, young artists will explore with various mediums including: clay, painting, collage, sculpture, chalks and oil pastels and many more! Students are introduced to the basics of art including color, line, shape and form. Each class students will create a new art project to be taken home that day. Art smock and backpack art portfolio are included.
We believe in the creative nature of every child ages 4-5, whether they are expressing themselves thru art, music or dance. Our education based programs focus on proper technique, fundamentals and learning. The most important part of every program is that the students have FUN and grow as individuals in whichever art form they choose.
These young budding artists are fully immersed in their water-color, pastel, collage and clay projects each week. Time flies in these action-packed classes with our nurturing art teachers.
For children aged 4-5, art classes are invaluable for developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination as they grasp tools like paintbrushes, scissors, pastels and 3-D clay formations. Beyond physical development, our Junior Artist classes foster creativity, self-expression, cooperation and problem-solving abilities, providing a crucial outlet for young children’s burgeoning imaginations and emotions.

Art Classes: Grades 1 – 3
In this class, we step it up a notch with our Artists, Grades 1 – 3. Step into a world of vibrant imagination and artistic discovery in our well-rounded art classes, designed for the creative 6-9 year olds. Every child will be met at the artistic and coordination level they are most comfortable, developing throughout the year. Young creators will embark on an exciting journey exploring a diverse range of mediums, including expressive drawing, the use of line and perspective, watercolor painting techniques, rich oil pastel tapestries, innovative collages (always a favorite with our students!) , and three-dimensional air-dry clay sculptures.
What’s NEW! We’re thrilled to announce that Cartooning for Grades 1 – 3 has been added to our curriculum. This new program gives students the chance to:

Art History Included. Each week, as we unleash our creativity, we’ll also delve into the fascinating stories of art history and be inspired by the masterpieces of famous artists from around the world, connecting our own artistic explorations to the grand tapestry of human creativity.

Artists Grades 1 – 3 are creating Art while learning about the Masters! This class introduces new Master Artists over the course of the year, such as Dali, Iris Scott and David Hockney. During the class an artist is presented along with their style of art. Then the students are guided to emulate the Master with that Master’s prominent medium and style. As a result, someone observing the final product might say, “Hey, that looks like ‘Surrealism’ that Salvador Dali could have created!”
Art Classes: Grades 3 – 5
In this studio session, we elevate the creative process for our intermediate artists. Designed specifically for the expanding minds of 8-11 year olds, this well-rounded program invites students into a world of vibrant imagination, critical thinking, and refined artistic discovery.
Because artistic development is personal, every student is met at their current technical and conceptual level, ensuring individualized growth and confidence-building throughout the year.
Our young creators will embark on a dynamic portfolio-building journey, mastering a diverse range of artistic mediums and sophisticated techniques:

Art Classes: Grades 5 – 8
Our advanced art classes for Master Art Students Grades 5-8 are designed to cultivate a deeper understanding of visual expression and technical mastery.
All these experiences and projects described below will contribute to our Master Artists building an impressive art portfolio, showcasing their growth and diverse skills.
Focusing on the Elements of Art Design, these Master Artists will delve more into drawing and perspective, line, shape, and form, fore-ground/mid-ground/background, etc. They will learn to manipulate value (lightness and darkness) to create depth and dimension, and explore how to use space effectively in their compositions. Our experienced art teachers explain and demonstrate color schemes (analogous and complementary). Emphasis will be placed on developing a strong grasp of perspective, enabling them to create convincing illusions of three-dimensional scenes. We will explore both realism, striving for accurate representation, and abstract styles, encouraging experimentation with color and texture to convey emotion and ideas. This class incorporates different artists of cultural influences, shaping our students’ awareness of their own artistic leanings.
Throughout the course, students will continue to refine their skills with various mediums, including watercolor, pastels, and engaging in cartoon drawing projects that encourage dynamic storytelling. Multi-medium projects will be on-going as well, fostering creative problem-solving and an understanding of how different materials interact. By analyzing the work of master artists, students will gain insight into how these elements and principles have been historically applied, inspiring their own unique artistic voices and empowering them to create sophisticated and impactful artwork.

Advanced Drawing & Sketching Techniques, Charcoal, Watercolor, Cartooning, Air-Dry Clay, Oil Pastels, Collage, Cartooning & much much more! Artists are featured in Myriad’s Art Show in the Spring!
Artists Grades 5 – 8 will continues to explore and be inspired by the styles of new Master Artists over the course of the year, such as Picasso, Degas and Hundertwasser. During the class an artist is presented along with their style of art. Then the students are guided to emulate the Master with that Master’s prominent medium and style. As a result, someone observing the final product might say, “Hey, that looks like ‘Pop Art’ that Andy Warhol could have created!”
Additionally, students in this class explore character drawing through various drawing and sketching techniques. Join this class as improve your drawing and perspective skills while having fun.
What’s NEW! We’re thrilled to announce that Cartooning for ages 10-14 has been added to our curriculum. This new program gives students the chance to:
- Explore character design and storytelling arcs through art.
- Practice expressive drawing styles and humor in illustration.
- Build confidence in creative self-expression with a medium kids love.
No experience necessary. Myriad’s Art Teacher Tiffany is highly skilled at this level, as a credential High School Art Teacher. Teacher Tiffany will impart essential beginning techniques for new art students, while also guiding the developing experienced art students towards enhanced, refined elements, advancing your artistic expertize!
