Call Time
Students should be dropped off at their designated call time for warm-up. Please no audience seating at this time. Parents are requested not to attend the pre-concert rehearsals to help ease any anxiety of the performers.

Performance
The performance should last about an hour to an hour and a half. A reception will be held during intermission and after the performance. If you wish to bring any refreshments there will be a sign-up list in the waiting area, or you may leave us a voicemail.

Dress
Dress is nice casual. No jeans (blue, black or otherwise), t-shirts, tank tops or running shoes, please. Piano students are reminded to wear loose fitting or stretchy bottoms. Thank you.

Performance Seminar Week

NOTE: This schedule includes all private lesson students. Choir students will attend Monday Choir rehearsals. Piano Team classes will not meet during this week.

Scheduling for this week
Sign up for your choice of performance class before Winter Break. Inform your teacher which session you will be attending. Sign-up forms are in the waiting area.

During this week, in preparation for the upcoming recital,
private lesson students will not attend regularly scheduled lessons. Each student must attend at least one class. Classes are an hour in length. Class size is limited to 6 students. This is also a make-up opportunity for students who have missed lessons to date.

What We Do in Performance Seminar

The art of performance poses a challenge for most musicians and the more we practice playing in front of others the easier it becomes. In the performance seminar, students of various levels gain confidence performing for each other in an intimate setting with peers and two teachers. We focus on techniques to ease performance anxiety, relaxation methods, musicality, and performance poise. Students listen constructively to each to other and have an opportunity to share feedback about musical concepts or how it feels to play in front of others. Students have the opportunity to receive coachings from some of the other talented teachers at the school. This is a positive performance experience in a safe environment for all ages.
