Call Time
Students should be dropped off at their designated call time for warm-up. Please no audience seating at this time. Parents are requested not to attend the pre-concert rehearsals to help ease any anxiety of the performers.

Performance
The performance should last about an hour to an hour and a half. A reception will be held during intermission and after the performance. If you wish to bring any refreshments there will be a sign-up list in the waiting area, or you may leave us a voicemail.

Dress
Dress is nice casual. No jeans (blue, black or otherwise), t-shirts, tank tops or running shoes, please. Piano students are reminded to wear loose fitting or stretchy bottoms. Thank you.

Definitely plan on attending PLAYING PARTY 4 as one as 1 of your 2 choices! Medals and certificates will be awarded at the final Playing Party to celebrate the year's achievements!

WORKSHOP WEEK

NOTE: This schedule includes all private lesson students, except adult students. Choir students will attend Monday Choir rehearsals during this week. Kid's Uke Band students will attend Tuesday class during this week. Piano Team & Guitar Team classes will NOT meet during this week.

Scheduling for this week
Sign up for your choice of WORKSHOP when you recieve your newsletter invitation. Inform your teacher which session you will be attending. Sign-up forms are posted in the waiting area.

During WORKSHOP, students are preparing for upcoming performances.
Private lesson students will not attend regularly scheduled lessons. Each student attends one class. Classes are an hour in length. Class size is limited to 7 students. Do not sign up for more than 1 class unless you have special permission from the office, and everyone has been given the opportunity to sign up for a class.

What We Do in WORKSHOP WEEK

The art of performance poses a challenge for most musicians and the more we practice playing in front of others the easier it becomes. In the WORKSHOPS, students of various levels gain confidence performing for each other in an intimate setting with peers and two teachers. We focus on techniques to ease performance anxiety, relaxation methods, musicality, and performance poise. Students listen constructively to each to other and have an opportunity to share feedback about musical concepts or how it feels to play in front of others. Students have the opportunity to receive coachings from some of the other talented teachers at the school. This is a positive performance experience in a safe environment for all ages. Students who require an accompanist also use these classes to practice with the piano accompaniment.

FAMILY OBSERVATION WEEKS

For Families of the Music for the Young Child and ABC Preschool Music Classes - come and see the progress your young musician has made in class on these days. The children will have performance songs to perform and musical skill games to share with you!
